Gucci enters agreement to acquire Boucheron from Schweizerhall

Gucci Group NV said it agreed to purchase Boucheron International SA and to buy back more Yves Saint Laurent licenses in moves highlighting its new status as a multibrand luxury group.

Gucci, which is purchasing French jeweler Boucheron from Swiss holding company Schweizerhall AG, didn't disclose the sum. Gucci's management said it expected the deal to dilute earnings until 2001.

Michel Dyens Investment Bankers, New York and Paris, advised Schweizerhall in the transaction.
