Unilever buys salon brands for $411m

Unilever, the owner of mass-market shampoos including Sunsilk and Dove is moving upmarket, buying three salon haircare brands from the founders of the Toni & Guy hairdressing chain for $411.5m (£296m). Toni & Guy, founded by the Mascolo brothers in London in 1963, owns hundreds of salons globally as well as training academies and a café chain. The family was advised by boutique bank Michel Dyens.
